4 World Trade Center

Address: 150 Greenwich St.
Developer(s): Silverstein Properties
Architect: Fumihiko Maki
Floors: 61
Height: 947 feet
Status/Comments: APPROVED. Billed as the "lightest" tower slated for the redeveloped WTC site, the minimalist structure will be clad in perforated aluminum. The building begins with a trapezoidal footprint, but -- utilizing a prismatic form to satisfy the master planning strictures -- its uppermost section pulls back and tapers into a parallelogram angled toward the memorial quadrant.

NOTE: Pre-approved as part of the master redevelopment plan agreed to by City Hall, developer Silverstein, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, and site's owner, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
